Velocity Pricing
The VELOCITY PRICING SETUP screen is used to set up part price increases or discounts based on the sales velocity or speed at which the parts are sold. In general, the slower the velocity of its stock turn, the higher the price.
Velocity Pricing can be set up using a single part filter, and enabled or disabled per account. Velocity Pricing is not applied to sale date or contract customer pricing setups, promotional pricing, or user price edits at Point-of-Sale.
Menu Path: Customers, Accounts, Acct Pricing, Velocity Pricing, VELOCITY PRICING SETUP screen
Note: The 'EDIT' button must be enabled to add or edit setups. The 'UPD' (update) button must be clicked in order to save changes. If the screen is closed without updating, the system prompts to save the changes.
The accelerator keys are 'F5' to edit and 'F9' to update.
Select the part filter that the velocity pricing will be based on. Only one field can be checked at a time.
- 'LINE CLASS'
- 'SALES CLASS' - Uses the most current ranking in the 1st position of the field. The 2nd field position is not used.
- 'USER CLASS'
Enter the upper-most price level boundaries. All parts whose cost falls between one level and the previous / next column’s level receives a price adjustment equal to the value (%) listed in that column for the particular part’s selected class code. The value is numeric from .01 to 9999999.99.
Reading the above example, the part would have cost 0.98 or less to fall within the 1st column, 0.99 to 9.98 for the 2nd column and 10.00 to 19.98 for the 3rd column, etc.
LINE CLASS or SALES CLASS or USER CLASS / %
In each row, enter the class code and each percent (%) across the row that will be used to calculate pricing for all parts with that class code that are priced using the 'LESS THAN' setup. Up to three decimal places are supported.
Using the following example, if a part with the 'USER CLASS' of '4' costs $18.54, the system will find the 'LESS THAN' setup (less than 19.99, but more than 9.99) and then read down the column to find the row set up for the 'USER CLASS CODE' of '4' and in this example, will calculate the customer sell price using the '3.000' markup.
Edit the existing values and click the 'UPD' button to save the changes.
If the selected class code filter is changed any time after the matrix is in use, the program prompts that the change affects historical reporting, however, the change is permitted.
