Mode 2 Monitor

Menu Path: Controls, System, Mode 2, Mode 2 Monitor, MODE 2 MONITOR screen

The MODE 2 MONITOR screen is used to view success and possible error conditions of PCs that are set up for Mode 2 processing and is used for corporate tracking.

Depending on the ‘DENY MODE 2 MONITOR STORES’ User Security permissions, the current store only displays with the 'Select Locations' grid grayed or hidden, or defaults to all stores displayed with the 'Select Locations' grid active. Narrow the results by checking or unchecking Locations.

Defaults to display the PCs in the selected locations with a ‘Fail’ status. Display the current status, regardless of Success or Fail, by unchecking the 'SHOW FAIL ONLY' checkbox.

The 'Mode 2 Status' grid allows a quick, easy view of the download status of each PC in the selected stores:

Grid Descriptions:

'TERMINAL NAME'

Computer name.

'LOC'

Store Number.

'PC #'

Device Number.

'TYPE'

Primary or Secondary.

'LAST DOWNLOAD'

Date and time the PC Mode 2 files were last updated.

'STATUS'

Of update: 'SUCCESS' or 'FAIL'.

'LAST OFFLINE'

Last date and time the PC went into Mode 2.

'# REC UPLOADED'

Number or records that were uploaded the last time the PC went out of Mode 2.

'LAST UPLOAD STATUS'

Either 'SUCCESS', 'FAILURE', or 'RUNNING'.

When a download to a Primary or a Secondary, or upload from Mode 2 does not complete, an error is logged to the 'Failure Message' grid. These messages can be viewed from any PC that has the program installed.

The status of each upload and download attempt overwrites the previous status. Errors that result from a download or upload, regardless of the current status, display an alert that the download/upload succeeded, but only after multiple attempts.

Depending on Corporate employee permissions, failure messages can be seen for the terminal or all terminals. Double-click a record in the 'Mode 2 Status' grid to see the results in the 'Failure Message' grid. Failure messages display in the grid with the most recent at the top of the list.

The 'Failure Message' grid displays the 'DATE/TIME' of the failure, 'STORE #', 'PC #' and 'FAILURE REASON'. 'FAILURE REASON' examples might include: ‘Download to Primary did not complete’, ‘Could not access Primary’, or ‘<number of> Records did not upload’.

Double-click a failure message from the grid to open the SYSTEM MESSAGES screen with that failure displayed.
Click 'FULL SCREEN' to expand the grid with additional failure messages.
