Buy Orders
The system calculates the order quantities depending on the stocking level method selected:
Order to Max
Compares the 'MAX' to the 'QTY AVAILABLE' and if the 'QTY AVAILABLE' is less than the 'MAX', the difference is ordered.
For example: If 'MAX' is 12 and 'QTY AVAILABLE' is 5, 7 parts are ordered to bring the 'QTY AVAILABLE' to equal the 'MAX'.
Order to Min
Calculations are the same as 'Order to Max' except the system uses the 'MIN' stocking level instead of the 'MAX'.
Order to Order Point
Calculations are the same as 'Order to Max' except it uses the 'ORDER POINT' stocking level instead of the 'MAX'.
Order Min to Max
Compares the 'QTY AVAILABLE' to 'MIN'. If the 'QTY AVAILABLE' is less than or equal to 'MIN', the 'MAX' value is ordered. If the 'QUANTITY AVAILABLE' is greater than 'MIN', 0 parts will be ordered.
For example, if 'MIN' is 5 and 'MAX' is 10, and if the 'QTY AVAILABLE' is 2, 3 parts will be ordered. However, if 'MIN' is 5, 'MAX' is 10 and the 'AVL QUANTITY' is 6, 0 parts will be ordered.
Order Average Min Max
Uses the average of 'MIN' and 'MAX' as a comparison against the 'QTY AVAILABLE'.
For example, if 'MIN' is 9, 'MAX' is 15 and the 'QTY AVAILABLE' is 2, then:
(9+15) ÷ 2 = 12
(12 – 2) = 10
('MIN' + 'MAX') ÷ 'AVG' = 'QTY'
('QTY' – 'QTY AVAILABLE') = 'ORDER QTY'
Return Orders
The system calculates the return quantities depending on the stocking level method selected.
Order to Max
Compares the 'MAX' to the 'QTY AVAILABLE' and if the 'QTY AVAILABLE' is greater than the 'MAX', the difference is returned.
For example: If 'MAX' is 5 and 'QTY AVAILABLE' is 12, 2 parts are returned to bring the 'QTY AVAILABLE' to equal the 'MAX'.
